Sad, sad loss, I saw him many years ago in a summer show at Bournemouth way back in the 60's. I still have happy memories of that evening.

Before I moved to the Wirrall Peninsula I Lived in Poulton Le Fylde, I was a member of The In Front of House
Team at Blackpool Grand Theatre. I had the priviledge of seeing Doddy thoughout the year and especially on a Sunday night, you knew you were in for a long night when Doddy brought his Thermos Flask and placed it on the stage.

I have downloaded this performance off the net hope you enjoy.

He had a great long life. Although I DO have a sense of humour, I never found him funny. We can't all like the same things, I guess. 'The cash in the suitcase in the attic' made me smile tho'.

Apart from a couple of comedians all is left are these comedians who swear and think its funny & so do the audience!
I have a GSOH but sometimes I watch live at the Apollo and think why are audience wetting themselves!!?

Knotty Ash is an area of Liverpool where Sir Ken grew up and the Diddy Men, although attributed to him actually go further back in local history/mythology. His act I believe was mainly aimed at children.
