Vintage Computers

Hi everyone!

I don't know if any of you will be interested, but my other hobby is collecting vintage computers - mostly British and mostly from the late 1970s to the mid 1990s.

The site is a brand new version and its missing a lot of photos. I have however tried hard to make it work on anything from a mobile phone to a PC with a 4k screen.

Looks good - but I can't see a BBC 'B' computer on it . . . . ! I still have one, carefully wrapped up in plastic, in the loft. Still works, or it did when I last tried it about 15 years ago. It is fitted with a 5.25" floppy drive, and I still have the floppys!

Check under "Acorn". I have a wide range of BBC Micros. They are great machines, and also machines many of us have experience of!

Christ! - I had an Acorn Electron - with those bloomin Tape things to load the games, I did like Arkadians and the frog one.

Ah the Oric, I had one of those back in the late 80s as my first computer Reading your website made me laugh when I remember you had to use your own tape deck to use it . I used to love the old Harrier Attack game. Still had the computer until a couple of years ago, when I found it in a box. Thought I would see if it still worked powered it up and it went bang

Still got my Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2, used to set it up once a year and reminisce

My brother had an Oric 48k,spent many a hour inputing programmes from a book he had.

Loading game via tape as mentioned,and tyring to land a plane at a very basic airsrip

I did have a Commodore Amiga at 1 point as well - Really liked the platform game called Oscar

i had the Electron and upgraded to a BBC B (loved that machine) and then got an amiga 500 then a 1200, both are still boxed up in th attic.

went to the science museum the other month and they have a display w/ them all - boy, it not half makes you feel old when toys youplayed w/ as a kid are in a museum :-(
