My prediction for the week-end. Lewis sets pole, Bottas second. Bottas gets out-dragged by MV, who comes steaming down the outside, inside, or over the top in the first corner, anyway will do, legal or not, hits Lewis in an attempt to take him out. Damages his and Lewis's car, Lewis struggles to the pits for new nosecone etc. gets back in the race, finishes in the points, whereas poor Max, despite his best efforts. has scored an own goal and damages his car too much and is out on the spot!! Lewis wins enough points, and is Champion!!!!. Poetic Justice, or fantasy... we shall see!!. :) :)

Maximilion wipes out Hamilton on the first lap. Incident goes upstairs to the stewards who gives Max a 5 place grid penalty carried over for the next race and tells everyone in a strange, high pitched voice that " he's not the Messiah, he's just a very naughty boy". Max wins the Championship.
A furious Toto Wolff is so enraged that he calls for the Spanish Inquisition to to take over the stewarding duties for the next season..dah, dah ,dahhhh!

How about Lewis takes another engine, 5 place penalty and we have a Brazil repeat ?

😷 🎄 🚲 🛴 🦼 🛵

An alternative scenario is that the stewards are currently re-writing the rules so that they can, at will, impose pit and stop penalties during the race. Alonso, Ricardo? and the Williams cars will be allowed to start from the front with a lap in hand as a tribute to Frank W.

No one is allowed to get hurt but can frighten other drivers by doing silly manoeuvres.

I hope that you all enjoy the W/e regardless of the outcome

:D I had an item delivered yesterday. It came with a ten year guarantee. My wife said that at my time of life it was a waste

Can we discuss the weekend openly on here as it progresses this week ? I assume that as CH4 are showing it for the casuals there's less of a worry about spoilers ?
All of the talk so far seems to be about avoiding a repeat of Jerez '97 and that a similar penalty could be imposed, whilst they keep referencing Lewis and Max it only really applies to Max. It would be awful if the championship was decided after the race by the stewards but I think that's highly likely, neither can let the other win. I think we'll see Max with the upper hand in qualy and Lewis in the race, the circuit isn't known for safety cars so that should mean we don't get a repeat of last week. The new layout should suit Merc but I do wonder if Lewis doesn't stick it on pole then will he take a new engine. As we've seen many times this year I think it will come down to whether the Merc can follow through the corners to be close enough for DRS, if they can then it's Lewis all the way.
Fingers crossed for a clean one.

Unless Botta takes out Hamilton I think obviously Merc have the constructor's sown up so no need for team orders it's all down to the drivers ambition.

I don't have/want pay TV so listen on the radio and watch the recorded high lights - I think radio is a good medium for sport and you can listen while out spotting in the car! Spoilers are not an issue and any way sadly perhaps no one out and about mentions race results , its not like football where you have to stay away from radio and news and other people.

The change channel option or mute facility is always available. No one is forcing you to listen to Channel 4 coverage.

Don't like Steve Jones myself. Has come out with some really crass comments during his short tenure. Coulthard and Webber are OK as pundits, once you realise they are not as impartial as one might like, but I don't think either are good enough to actually anchor the program.

I do think Lee McKenzie is a decent F1 reporter. Was also pleasantly surprised by the W Series racing driver on the last C4 broadcast (whose name I can't remember and my Google-fu has deserted me). Often they seem to parachute 'affirmative action' candidates into programs without them necessarily being up to the job, but that wasn't the case here. Knew her stuff, and presented it well.

Don't watch Sky, so can't comment on that.

The huge problem for all of them is living up to the legacy of the legend that was Murray Walker.
