How quick the media turn when it comes to the England football team is nothing short of pathetic. It’s halftime and your drawing against Denmark, and you’d think someone had stolen the crown jewels, with Harry being made the scapegoat 🤷‍♂️ Do these pundits not realise there is another team out there and you can’t be winning all the time, every time.

Week in , week out the players in the premier league are used to fast, pressing, decisive football. With England it’s so often lethargic and sitting off.
Kane wants to touch the ball so drops back, gets in the way of the centre backs and hasn’t got the speed to get up where he should be when needed.
TAA is constantly played out of position and his phenomenal stretching passing ability is never used and now he’s subbed.
Southgate’s lack of ambition cost us the last Euros and the current playing style is just boring.

Almost like playing players out of position won't work...

Southgate's stubbornness and refusal to change team or tactics, throughout his tenure is why we've never won. When you barely scrape past Serbia, and struggle against Denmark, it shows and SURELY you think "I have to change something".

Last edit - The PL club rivalry I think has a lot to answer for :S

As Ian said how do you have one of the most attacking leagues in the world and then not play to the strengths.

Posh play this build up possession football and it's just as annoying. They do get goals though

Because we've never had a manager who's managed to get the players to work...

You've forgotten about Terry Venables then.

Because the Premier League is full of teams that are full of players that don’t qualify to play for England, simples. With the exception of two or three players the England squad is made up of mediocre players that rely week in week out on the quality of overseas players around them.

We did young James but politics got in the way in the 90s and our best manager had to step down. RIP El Tel

I don't think defenders make the best managers.

Have to wait until Tuesday for the next annoying performance.

Since Venibles can't say we've had a great manager.

I expect Southgate to put exactly the same team out again on Tuesday. That confident I've already selected it on the Fanhub app

Why on earth would you experiment with one of your better players in an unnatural position, in a major tournament? Mental. Of course he will

Agreed 110%

We drew - we have all watched England and other internationals for years and this is nothing new.

I agree we have some top players who are playing week in week out in league winning sides and we should be getting more out of them but there are very few competitive internationals.

they went to penos with a tip top Italian team, I think it would have been a monumental ask for anyone in that tournament to finish Italy off in normal time in 2020.
But I do agree, 2 matches in and Southgate's strategy doesn't look to hopeful (I was hoping at least semi's before England got knocked out   )

That Netherlands goal should have counted imo. Goalie wasn't going to get to that anyway, even if the player wasn't stood there.

Yep I think they got it wrong too.

Polish first team officially eliminated from the knock out stages. Will be a fun night listening to the Poles at work now

Surprise surprise, the referee was Anthony Taylor, one of the worse PL refs. Just look at all his shocking decisions this season, you'd need more than 2 hands to count them.

To be fair to the referee, it was out of his hands. The linesman put his flag up for offside and VAR confirmed it.
