I didn't see for myself but the Observer newspaper picked up on the Morocco team posing behind a Palestinian flag rather than the flag of Morocco after their historic win over Portugal.

So France vs Morocco or Palestine and the rest of the Arab world

Politics in football, surely not.

It was after their game against Spain

After the win against Portugal they displayed a Qatari/Morroco combi flag

Interesting thanks

I don't normally read the Observer it just happened to be in the pub

Ironically the Moroccan government upset the Arab world by signing up to a trump lead initiative/ accord to try and normalise relationships with Israel so it seems odd that Palestinians would align to Morocco. But it shows that governments can sign these agreements but it is the people that matter and in this case the Morocco team and supporters aligned with Palestine rather than Israel and their own government

International football and politics can't be separated because it is the sport of the average working man and woman

would love to see Argentina win it now, be good to see Morocco make the final too. France have enough injuries that it's a possibility

I would like to see France progress to the final

Argentina looked good but Croatia looked a very average bunch of blockers, how on earth did they beat Brazil!

Messi on form is a joy to watch

I must admit I'd love to see Morocco win the World Cup as a boost to the African countries; I wonder if the success of the African countries will lead to a North African based tournament in the nearish future.

Really good game.
Now, Argentina or France; the old master verses the new master?

Really looking forward to the final

I don't mind who wins but I suppose I slightly edge towards Argentina for the Messi story

I'd go for Argentina for the same reason.
Morocco v Croatia could be close; hopefully the African team will come out the winners.

Totally agree Nighthawk and I thought the scenes after the Uruguay game threw sportsmanship out the window.Hope your recovery is going well as i think it might be stretched again yet.

Best wishes
