Re: Music thread
Guys I can recommend a couple of bands for you to check out try, exit calm, the sound like early verve and kind of shoe gaze type of music if you know what that was??,I also like a band frome stoke called all the young,a wee bit of a britpop sound, good guitar driven sound .
Re: Music thread
Seeing Imelda May in March. I've seen her twice, she's brilliant. Well worth seeing if you like rock n' roll or rockabilly, slight jazz twang to it, beautiful voice.

Just been watching The National - 6 Music Festival highlights http://www.bbc.co.uk/events/e8gmxj/acts/awmv4f#p01t4nzb a truly brilliant band. Went to see them at the Ally Pally last November. Well worth checking out
Also went to see The Jezabels in Nottingham last week another great band http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQ3fAMOz-Ic

Re: Music thread
Saw Imelda May last Thursday, absolutely brilliant. Proper no nonsense Rock n' Roll, I think she's touring now, well worth seeing. And I'll be seeing Matt Berry (IT Crowd, Toast of London etc) playing on 4th April, intriguing.

Re: Music thread
I'm a massive fan of Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles and i've never been to a gig before, the last two albums i bought were The real..Elvis Presley and the legend of Johnny Cash.I like a lot of Frank Sinatra too and Roy Orbison. The list goes on
Re: Music thread
As posted above I went to see Imelda May, here's a pic from the night, I had a photopass, got tons more. I've tried to give the pic a kind of smoky jazz club feel, C&C ? If people are interested I can post up more gig pics.

..... and I saw Matt Berry last Friday, really surprised at how good he was. He's touring now, if you're a fan of his comedy acting you'll enjoy his music too.

Re: Music thread
Watched Green Day's Broadway Idiot documentary the other night, fantastic watch and very interesting. Covers the development of the theatrical production based on their American Idiot album, which became a sell out on Broadway.
Not sure where you can watch it, as I caught it on Sky Arts. But if you see it on anywhere, well worth a watch in my opinion

It was a brilliant night
27 songs split over two sets and two encores. Started at 8pm and finished just after 11pm with a 15 or 20 min break between first and second set. Was the first time I had seen them and hopefully won't be the last
It was a brilliant night

Re: Music thread
nice to see some Imelda May fans here. just got a ticket for her gig in November. saw her last time she was here, excellent show. New album's great so i'm really looking forward tot he show, especially since it's at teh Sage rather than the poxy O2 Academy and i'm in stalls Row B :-)
Re: Music thread
Can't recommend Imelda May highly enough if you like rock n' roll or rockabilly or just a good night out. Got Johnny Marr tickets today for the De La Warr Pavilion at Bexhill, fantastic venue, and Jim Jones Revue farewell tour at The Forum in Kentish Town in October. Dreadzone in a few weeks at Bath, again in November at Tunbridge Wells, followed a week later by John Otway. Probably Womad festival in July too.
