I use an old credit card for under lining however I do like the idea of an upside down rule

Most people I guess have gone digital, especially in the civil world but I like a book even if it's only a quick reference to carry around - comes in handy for checking mis-poles and unit allocations.
Old hotel key cards make good rulers as well :P

Yes got a few of those

Currently I am using an old National trust card - Rule(r)s are too long for most books

I'll take a T-41 any day. I bet many on here don't know what one is!
Aaah the dear old Cessna T-41A Mescalero. Often allocated to base flying clubs in their later days. Used a civvy reg derived from USAF serial

Yes indeed by Waterman, superb pens..
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

I must say for me having a book to mark off is one of the fundamentals of the hobby - a visual representation in page form of what you have seen or what you still need to see.

Nothing better than the satisfaction of underlining an entire page or completing a batch ( happens more often in the civvy world ) :)

To be honest for me the plane is just the thing that has a number so I don't care whether it's a T-41 Mescalero or a UH-60L or a B-1B on full afterburner

The fun is in the hunt

Each to our own I guess
Absolutely but I have an interest at what I'm looking at as well, but equally pleased when Jordanians bring a different Herc to Fairford, or the Charleston C-17 is different each year.

I still remember being told on one of the Aeroprints trips years ago when I started out, you'll never see everything but the fun is just marking off as much as you can

Although every time I get a new book, no matter how careful I am I still manage to mark off the wrong thing at least once :grr:

There's no "go-round" in a glider.

The dreaded X next to the serial/reg to indicate the mistake. Then hopefully crossing that out within the year when you actually see the aircraft concerned.
40 years in the hobby and still making the odd error!
