AN-225 destroyed by Russia
Re: AN-225 destroyed by Russia
Of course people are concerned about loss of life etc., but, this is an enthusiasts site, I care very much about what is happening in the Ukraine, but I see nothing wrong in people being disappointed about the loss of the 225, as am I, never having seen it, but for goodness sake don't think that people on here think it is the most important thing that is happening, because that is a ludicrous suggestion!!!.

Well said. Seeing the photos of the little kiddies this morning massacred by the evil b******s certainly upset me.raptor9 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 5:45 pmOf course people are concerned about loss of life etc., but, this is an enthusiasts site, I care very much about what is happening in the Ukraine, but I see nothing wrong in people being disappointed about the loss of the 225, as am I, never having seen it, but for goodness sake don't think that people on here think it is the most important thing that is happening, because that is a ludicrous suggestion!!!.
An aircraft certainly is not as important , but sad all the same. It's all just so sad, how the hell did it all come to this.

Just seen some video from Ukraine. Reporter is standing in front of the AN225, and it IS completely destroyed unfortunately.

That 225 is done. Economically there's no way it'll fly again, unless they can somehow get Putin to foot the bill.

As this is the only picture of the aircraft I have seen. Can you tell me seriously what can be repaired? Maybe a few parts can be used and I mean very few as large as the aircraft is large

You'd be better off asking Antonov's engineers that question, but as I said, there's Spitfires about rebuilt from less.
Not that any images show on the above link for me BTW
