Went to see the criminally overlooked Tom McRae on his solo tour at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London on Thursday, it was a truly fantastic gig well worth checking out if anyone hasn't heard of him.

RIP to Jeff Hanneman from Slayer.
Reign in Blood by Slayer in which he wrote most of the tracks on is the number 1 thrash metal album of all time.
There is not another album that comes close to this in the genre for sheer energy and brutality, the production by Rick Rubin puts to shame releases to this day, even though RIB was released in 1986.
Don't listen to this album while driving seriously, you'll get points.

I saw Steve Hackett at Hammersmith on Friday, a great band and some great guests including Nick Kershaw.
It was good to hear those old Genesis songs again :)

Been to three gigs over the last week

Meat Loaf - Nottingham - Monday 20th
Felt sorry for Meat Loaf during the first 'act' of the concert he seemed to be struggling big style. Second 'act' when he played Bat Out of Hell he seemed to improve was great seeing him kick the classics.

Mark Knopfler - Birmingham - Friday 24th
Great gig, hearing him belt out a couple of Dire Straits songs Romeo & Juliet, So Far Away was worth the ticket prices.

Muse - Emirates Stadium - Saturday 25th
A truly epic gig and that's a big understatement  Dizzee Rascal support them at first I was dubious of him but he puts on a great show :thumb:

Saw a band called Rotten Hill Gang on Wednesday night, they've got a few gigs coming up in London, and a festival or two. Mick Jones is involved, they are very good.

I was attending an exhibition at Leeds College of Art last night (I know, culture..........) which is just across the road from the O2 Academy - after seeing a somewhat mature crowd (of sorts) outside I was curious to know who was playing. Anyone on here remember Graham Parker and the Rumour.............?

I do.... :)
