9th June. A hung Parliament.
Re: 9th June. A hung Parliament.
I think that the two advisors to May that got binned today were the problem along with May taking their advice to have an election. Then alienating the core Conservative voters OAPs etc. It will be Boris v Worzel Corbyn next time ,its a Shame that Nigel Farage did not jump to the Torys at least he was fun and would have floored Corbyn at a TV debate.

Re: 9th June. A hung Parliament.
UKIP would have done so much better if Farage was still in the driving seat, they wouldn't have won the election but would certainly have done better than they did. As controversial as he was, Mr Farage did actually talk a lot of sense and said exactly what a lot of people were thinking, the UKIP party has certainly lost that attraction now that he's gone. He'd have got my vote had he still been there!
As for Corbyn, well what he was offering is nothing short of laughable! He was however a very clever and crafty man by offering candy to reel voters in, especially to the younger voters, and that was candy which nobody would have ever received. If we had ended up with a Labour government then it wouldn't have been too far down the line before people realised that they'd been conned. Corbyn's policies sound nice, but in the long run they would have without doubt put the country into severe financial difficulty.
At this moment in time politics really divide this country and its such a shame. I reckon we should bring back Oliver Cromwell to sort it all out

Here Is Nigel on Fox Money explaining the election to some Americans https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ytxNAbiqVs
I bet if Corbyn had won he would have thrown the USAF out of the UK so we may just have got this years RIAT then that would be it.

Re: 9th June. A hung Parliament.
To my mind Farage said what people wanted to hear just as much as Corbyn did. He's a political player just like all the others, and because the Tories got scared of him we had the referendum which has led us to where we are now. An incompetent party (barely) in government with an ineffective opposition.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.
Re: 9th June. A hung Parliament.
Treat with caution, as it is only heresay so far, but apparently there are significant numbers of students bragging that they voted twice - once at home and once at their university constituency, once in person, the other by post. If true,, massive fines will follow. Corruption as well as bribery?
Re: 9th June. A hung Parliament.
if true lets hope that is looked into and rectified!?

Fraud in elections in the UK is far too easy both sides have been up to it over the years . http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... -says.html
It needs an in depth investigation into these latest claims and there may be a social media trail back to Momentum etc.

Re: 9th June. A hung Parliament.
all very good posts, and most of it I agree with, which is weird as there are different points of view, but May really didn't run a good election campaign, and Corbyn just connected better, but to be honest, he wasn't. Yes he told youngsters what they wanted to hear, and got them out to vote for Labour, but at 53 I do remember Labour spending money and the effect on the uk was high inflation, high unemployment and strike after strike after strike.

Re: 9th June. A hung Parliament.
Sorry I've just caught up with this topic Paddyboy wrote about terrorist sympathizes, what does he think the DUP is made up with, plus the sitting Tory Croydon Councillor Maria Gatland – once known as Maria McGuire who was actually a member of the IRA one of her quotes 2I agree with the shooting of British soldiers and believe the more that are killed the better" and freely admits to gun running for them and was also the partner of a very prominent IRA member one Dáithí Ó Conaill As for the national debt quote "The key measure (public sector net debt) rose from £960 billion in April 2010, just before the coalition government was elected, to £1.5 trillion five years later. This means the debt has increased by just over 50%, not doubled." But of course our unbiased national press wouldn't play on any of these facts would there.

So you're saying he's a bit of a barsteward then!!
Yes frightening thing is how besotted people are with him and will readily vote for such a person who has clearly proved over several decades that he
hates our country and all his efforts and sympathies are for foreign terrorist groups!

Re: 9th June. A hung Parliament.
But as far as I know he has never wanted to form an alliance with a party started by a bunch of ex-loyalist terrorist to keep himself in power in a hung parliament. What Phantom must remember that one person terrorist is another person freedom fighter. I don't hold with acts of violence in any form. I would have thought the Third Reich would have thought of the French Resistance as terrorist carrying out terrorist attacks, but rightly so we hold them as hero's defending their occupied country everything is not black & white as things seem and both sides must be looked at, which is something our national press is not in a habit of doing.
Re: 9th June. A hung Parliament.
I think it is scary how much everyone believes everything they read which corresponds to what they already think. It seems that people don't search for what is going on but any form of confirmation that is concurrent with their already present beliefs and dismisses the bad sides of their own as 'not as bad'. There isn't much objectivity, I noticed it a lot reading about the fire in London this morning. Which doesn't seem to be brought up much on here unlike a terrorist attack despite it being a disaster on the same scale and seemingly caused by a whole plethora of people in the housing industry and politicians.Alfie wrote:But as far as I know he has never wanted to form an alliance with a party started by a bunch of ex-loyalist terrorist to keep himself in power in a hung parliament. Re: 9th June. A hung Parliament.
Quite a list Willow70, but some have been proven to be factually incorrect, some he has sinced apologised for the language he used as inappropriate and sent the wrong message and if the whole speeches those quotes are taken from were quoted that'd make sense, and a lot of the others are taken seriously out of context. I don't have time to fact check everything everyone says about politicians but when I do look into what people are alleged to have said and supported or done I nearly always find the truth isn't as presented. Normally he wouldn't be my favourite to run the country but in the short term a better alternative to vaccilating May in my view, who's position is now so weak (especially the threats from within her own party) anything she does will be compromised by her desire to stay in power at any cost. The likes of Johnson, Fallon & Gove in positions of serious power going into the Brexit negotiations really isn't good in my opinion.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.
Re: 9th June. A hung Parliament.
The likes of Thornberry, Griffith and Hayman (has anyone heard of the last two) as the shadow spokespeople of those you mention, are no better, probably worse.Sparts99 wrote:The likes of Johnson, Fallon & Gove in positions of serious power going into the Brexit negotiations really isn't good in my opinion.
