I blame the parents teachers , the parents , and the posters teachers . Education all changed after the 60`s.

Fining atrocious spelling and grammar would be a far more lucrative line of income for any local authority.

Well said. Nothing worse than a load of grammar Nazis on a forum.

I agree, then again English might not be their first language.
Quite so.

Not having a go at you personally baz and no offence intended,so profound apologies offered .

I was only having a dig at the way the education systems fail our "youngsters" these days which is often shown in their posts .

Incidentally I had a VR 5000 quite some time ago and could still operate it if need be without a PC .
My first radio transmitter was a Pye rRanger bought at a "junk sale " which I revamped to operate on the 2m band in a couple of hours, but fully admit there`s no way I could repair a modern surface mount pcb as I too am approaching 3 score years plus ten and my eyes wont let me .

Not wishing to sound like I'm having a go here chaps but have a look at rule 9 of your agreement you all agreed to on joining.

I'm not saying it's text speak but a post should at least be legible, I for one accept that it was typed in a rush without his glasses (I know that feeling well) but for one or two of you to decide it's a good idea to have a 'pop' at those pointing out the errors is a bit baffling to say the least!

Baz did also say" comments welcome " and I admit if it was in morse I would need some time to translate it .

PS English is my first language and to insinuate anything else could be considered racist which is also not acceptable according to forum rules. The "Nazi" comment is also unacceptable and grossly offensive ( in my opinion).

Apologies for what may appear to be a tardy response time, but I have been away today.
Let me offer my personal perspective into my earlier post following the Original Posters input
It may be a combination of my age, background or experiences, which provokes my frustration at the growing systemic lack of basic grammar skills being displayed by some current youth.
I, like a number of 'elders', would never get away with some of the recent pronunciation, annunciation or articulation of the English language whilst at school. My previous employment demanded accuracy, brevity and clarity in writing, especially engineering documentation or report writing. Following this, later employment allowed me to undertake interview documentation sifting and, believe me, anything presented similar to the above would not get past the first round.
I'm not perfect, not arrogant, nor am I a member of any Grammer Police.
One thing I'm not good at is picking 6 numbers on a Saturday night... I did get 5 though and was well happy with that.
As they say, "Opinions are like ars*h*les, everybody's got one"
That's mine.
Apostrophe errors retained!
Happy for the Mods to lock if deemed the right thing to do.

Ever so good of you to Accept that is was typed in a rush as if you matter. It's ok to have a "pop" at people because of their spelling, but not for trying to belittle someone on a forum.
"As if you matter" I'll tell you what fellah, if it weren't for ignorant, rude people such as yourself there would be no need for Mods and Admins on any site out there!
Everybodies opinions matter that's why we have these forums. So just grow up and allow other people their own thoughts on subjects.

Look on the bright side. If you are unfortunate enough to have your car clipped by one of these bin lorrys, at least the evidence will be on video now. Additionally it may go some way towards helping to minimise the number of instances of poor quality driving in our town. From what I witness day to day, that is certainly no bad thing.

Thread drift or what ? well here's a bit more. At Eastbourne in August I got chatting to a group of enthusiast photographers and asked them if any were on FC, they all laughed and said no. They were, but left when they got fed up with the sniping and criticism. While I agree the first post wasn't perfect, I think some of the comments on both sides have been a bit unnecesary.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

I would imagine the cameras are more to do with the fact that pedestrians have died after being run over by reversing bin lorries in pedestrianised town centres!

Comments welcome (Ok) a swear word. (Don't know what there is to swear about).
It's also unclear from the original post who has been prosecuted for dangerous driving - a bin lorry driver, someone clipping a bin lorry, or a third party observed from a camera affixed to a bin lorry. It then makes a sideways jump to suggest it's all about revenue generation.

The spelling/grammar is only the half of it, the original post communicated almost no useful information and the accuracy of some the information that was included was admitted as uncertain, some was hearsay and the rest wasn't researched/confirmed for accuracy. Taking more time over the post would not only have reduced spelling/grammar errors but would have also provided the opportunity to think about what was being communicated.

Getting a few spelling/grammar jibes might be considered as getting off lightly. Laugh. (what's so funny?)
