What with this latest set of beheadings along with the Copenhagen incident I think the time is coming for the civilised world to take the gloves off.
I know it's what IS/ISIL want but ..... it's time to put the ROE's to one side.

No Need for boots on the ground yet - Well maybe some SF to gather intelligence (As they are already)

Now we see the direct result of western intervention to remove Gaddafi. When you remove a leader/regime you create a power vacuum which others can fill.
The same can be said about western attempts to weaken Assad and remove him along with the removal of Saddam Hussein creating the situation for groups like IS to sadly thrive.
This entire mess and the rise of IS is the fault of our own leadership and their badly thought out policies. I firmly believe if Saddam Hussein and Gaddafi had been left in place and in the case of Syria the west supported Assad then IS would either not exist or would be a much smaller problem than it is. Those leaders would do everything they could to destroy such groups as existence of said groups would be a threat to their rule, that means we would not really have to get involved thus reducing the risk of terrorism at home also.

Hindsight is wonderful but I agree with your statement. The world arena of who is friend or foe at any one time is very fluid. The Gaddafi’s, Assad’s and Hussein’s of this world may be evil, but lesser ones than we have (given ourselves) to deal with now.

I could say sooooo much more but I’d go off on a tangent; however, it’s a lovely and (relatively) warm sunny day and I don’t intend sitting in front of a computer screen all day.

I think we should be more concerned about the threat to our way of life than elsewhere. Terror plots spread to 14 more towns and cities, as reported in Saturday the 14th February, 2015 Daily Telegraph.

Terrorist hotbeds are spreading around Britain after the Syria conflict forced the Government to expand counter-radicalisation programmes it has emerged.
The lure of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) for british jihadists from all corners of Britain has led officials from a rising number of towns and cities to
express concern over Islamic Extremism.

The number of areas now supported by the Governments Prevent Strategy, which aims to steer people away from radicalisation, has increased by half. Many
areas have come under the spotlight after high provile cases of locals travelling to join the terror network.

Officials are now directing fresh resources into the areas in a desperate effort to curb the number of would be jihadists. The £40 million a year Prevent programme
originally targeted 30 areas in England and Wales, based on the size of the Muslim populations.

A Home Office list obtained under the Freedom of Information, shows a further 14 areas have joined it including seven added in the past three months.
New areas include Brighton, Coventry, Portsmouth, Calderdale, Burnley, Southwark and Crawley, according to the Data obtained by the Guardian.
More than 600 Britons are believed to have travelled to Iraq or Syria, many to join ISIL. Around half have returned, some posing a threat to security here.
