His face reminds me of my old battered leather school satchel.

Cant see any actual legislation he has passed thus far that makes him so stupid as everyone claims...

Doing exactly what America has needed for a looooooooong time.

If someone could do that for the UK it would be brilliant.

Tariffs - which only hit the home market because the tariffs are paid by the importers to government and the costs are passed on to the (American) consumer who voted for him on the basis he would cut costs. Generally known as cutting your nose off to spite your face.

Attempting to pass on all sorts of sensitive data to Musk - who can of course be totally trusted to not put it all into his algorithms on X and whatever.

Whilst I have little interest in politics, this is the General Chat section for non-aviation discussions. Providing it remains polite and sensible then there shouldn't be an issue. We all have a choice to read posts or not. If you feel strongly enough you can always use the "report post" button.

Have you not read anything about what he is doing and plans to do?

- Blamed the FAA for the Potomac crash for "hiring mixed race and people without a great brain"
- Getting rid of the Department of Education
- Tariffs and trying to stronghold Canada in to becoming the 51st State
- Threatening NATO partners
- Moving to dismantle DEI
- Creating a literal concentration camp on Guantanamo bay (Yes, it can be called that by definition) for people
- Pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement
- Allowing a brainless billionaire access to people's information and the finances - which is now being accused of accessing confidential data with Musk's "team" gaining access to administrative email accounts
- Withdrawing from WHO

Whilst they aren't yet "legislation" I am sure it won't take long for them to become that way. But sure, what a great leader, definitely what the UK needs

Trump is a dictator, the world doesn't need dictators, if you're happy with such people move to Russia or North Korea ..just saying.
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Donald J Trump - 45th and 47th President of the USA:-

- only the second man to have won the Presidency in a second non-consecutive term
- won a majority in the Senate
- won a majority in the House
- won the popular vote (total votes cast)

A landslide for the MAGA movement and a humiliating defeat for the Democrats. The world's only superpower, the largest economy by far, and yet some on here still cannot get it?! The American people, an English speaking people, have elected their leader, and some here moan and complain and follow the fake news, spouting their tired nonsense.

A President who admires the UK and has respect for its Monarchy!

If ever there is a time for the blinkered percentage of voters in the UK to wake up and smell the coffee, it is now. The UK is fast becoming a nonentity, a shadow of its former self, a country on a slippery downhill slope to an ignominious iteration of history. This country, this United Kingdom, is desperately in need of leadership, such as that shining newly lit beacon across the Atlantic.

Tally-ho. Would you really want a convicted felon, compulsive liar, disrespectful of everybody but himself, who believes in taxes for other people but has STILL not produced his own tax returns, despite years of agreeing to do so... to be in charge of anything other than his own massive ego!!.... :S :S :S :S. I have been to America many times, and there are an awful lot of seemingly unintelligent people over there!.

Democracy has spoken in the latest US elections, if you cannot understand that, then you obviously don't understand democracy.

Tally-ho, I do understand democracy. Everything I posted is, nevertheless fact, and I refer again to my last sentence in my previous post!!. Just because he was voted in does not mean he is the right person to hold that post!!.

Unfortunately there is a clear movement in the western liberal democracies towards the right wing. Reform is (probably transitory) quite popular in the UK, Italy has it's rightwing PM, Germany has the AfD and the USA has Trump.

Apart from being a failed business man - he started off inheriting a massive fortune and now only has a big one - Trump is a convicted felon and was found guilty of rape. (you need to look into the differences between the UK and USA legal systems to work out why he's not inside). The Trump majority was down to a number of things: significant inflation; perception that illegal immigrants were being supported with Medicare, food stamps and free mobile phones and, probably most important, the utter failure of the Democrats to put up a viable candidate.

Absolutely agree with your last comment. Biden should have withdrawn much earlier and given Harris a longer run up and chance to get out and be seen and build up some momentum. As for Trump, aside from everything listed above he's going to drive a wedge into NATO and weaken it if he keeps up this Greenland thing and continues to be hostile to Canada, possibly gifting Putin an opportunity for further expansion if his armed forces are up to it but if not at least allowing Putin to push his covert ops harder with less risk of consequence. Advocating ethnic cleansing in the middle East alienating Arab states that were until now friendly isn't helpful either.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.
