Is Keir Starmer an Argentinian?

Post by atech » Thu Oct 10, 2024 5:02 pm

At PMQ's yesterday KS was asked about the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands.

His reply was that The Falklands were very dear to him, as his uncle was on a ship that was torpedoed whilst defending the Falkland islands, during the 1980 altercation.

If I recall correctly (and I do) the only ship that was torpedoed during the Falklands war, was the General Belgrano.

Therefore either

- if this is true his uncle was an Argentine Sailor who was invading the Falklands :halo:
- has KS's forensic attention to detail failed him
- or is KS just a pathelogicall liar. :@

A quick internet search answers the question - but why do that when you can stir the effluent on here?

His uncle was on HMS Antelope which was bombed. So no he is not Argentinian and yes he was factually incorrect. No-one is perfect and I am not a Starmer fan but errors are easily made aren't they - it was 1982 not 1980.

No story - time to move on with life I think.

Are you a tabloid reader "atech", or worse, "work" for one?

“My dad’s a toolmaker”or was his Dad the owner of a toolmaking company?
Not filing members interests (freebies) totally correctly until after the election.
All simple mistakes a former DPP would make?
My Uncle (Albert)? Was torpedoed in the Falklands son. Wasn’t that in an episode of Only Fools and Horses?
You decide.

All politicians need holding to much higher standards, backed up in law.

No, I dont read the papers, but I am a retired veteran of said conflict and I did watch PMQ's

I am just sick and tired of the lies and sleaze that keeps coming out of this government.

This is the general discussion part of the forum, and I believe that the topic is worthy of discussion. If it offends you then there is no need to join in.

By the way, the definition of a pathological liar is someone with a pervasive pattern of intentionally making false statements with the aim to deceive others, sometimes for no clear or apparent reason. I think this definition describes KS exactly and
as such he is not fit to govern.

Also 1980 was a typo so thats me with egg on my face :'(

Yes but KS promised to clean it all up, but so far they have been far worse than the previous lot.

Right you are. In fact the Prime Minister ended by saying "It's personal to me". Well, if it is so "personal" to him then he should and must know better before he puts on his faux funeral face prattling in platitudes.

Come to the conclusion government is in the bin, lies carry no consequences and liars are allowed to run free, it's all hopeless.....let's go to the pub.

Short memory? The previous disaster of a government was built on lies and deceit and jobs for mates. That’s why they were wiped out in the election.
