Paris Olympics 2024

Post by slogen51 » Fri Jul 26, 2024 7:23 pm

Just been sent a fascinating screenshot ( thanks 👍) from adsbexchange showing a massive no fly zone over Paris

In fact there are barely any civil aircraft aloft over France north of Lyon during the opening ceremony

Makes interesting viewing on FR24

Watching a blank FR24 screen must be more interesting than watching the opening ceremony - they'll be dusting off Madame la Guillotine for the planner, so disjointed.

An interesting concept but gave up as Ian said to disjointed. Bordeing on boring . Not a patch on London 2012.

Now they've finally got everyone to the Trocadero and Eiffel Tower it seems to be improving a bit. However the view of Whitby Abbey from our hotel is much better - and we had sunshine rather than the Paris downpour. Such a shame about the weather.

Maybe I was premature. The flame is taking a journey round Paris whereas I thought they were going to use the Eiffel Tower.

As I understand the planning, it was suggested but deemed to be too unwieldy.

Well, someone had to say it!

Bronze in the women’s synchro diving! Well done girls. Little fortunate as one of the Aussies fell off the board.

When I looked at FR24 the only things showing were a few things on the ground and 2 A330 tankers to the west of Paris doing racetracks.
All the stuff that goes overhead Paris was rerouted towards the UK and along the south coast.

Bronze medal in the Cone with Flake event - drip on the arm let me down

Mens Team Gymnastics - GB have a chance of a Silver if they are perfect - China are favourites

One of the best events I think
