TrainRadar24
Hi all,
Whilst having my lunch at work today I parked my van facing a high-speed railway line (Bathley Lane, Notts) and had a great time watching the trains fly through. I'm not interested in registrations of the trains but I kept thinking "I wonder where that one is going".
This got me thinking. Is there a train equivalent of FlightRadar or ADSB etc where I could look them up and see where they were going?
Cheers!

Not map-based but https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/detailed/ provides times and places - and more.

Traksy is the closest to a map I’ve ever found https://traksy.uk/live

Very interesting posts, thanks.

OpenTrainTimes is another. Click on maps.
https://www.opentraintimes.com/maps
When you click on some of the names in blue i.e. station or major junctions it brings up a timetable. Trains with white headcode can be clicked on too although not always accurate.

I work in the rail industry and I can tell you that these are pretty much the same as the systems we use. Although a lot of people actually prefer using realtime trains to our industry system as the user interface is simple and straightforward. The industry system (called TRUST) is based on a piece of software from the 1960s so while it gets the job done it can be a bit annoying to use.

This one is kind of map based https://raildar.co.uk/map/PAD or if you want the full gen on what is due (including all the freight, engineers trains and specials) https://live.rail-record.co.uk/ however you will need to get used to using the sites, 3 letter location codes and filtering options to make best use of them
