Cryptic clue

Post by slogen51 » Wed Apr 01, 2020 5:31 pm

To pass the time here is a rather amateurish attempt at a cryptic aviation related clue to solve

1) Although various trains had me mixed up, I eventually arrived at this super base.

If you find the answer feel free to add a further clue to solve

Bruce Whiteman not heard of him? The base I was thinking of sounds like a film starring Kevin Bacon

Not aviation-related, but one of the best cryptic crossword clues I have come across was simply: GP (5)
[ie the answer is five letters long]
Enjoy!
