Jobs to do around the house

Post by slogen51 » Thu Mar 26, 2020 8:52 pm

I am sure we all have a long list of chores that need doing and the current pub lock out removes any excuse for not doing them!

On my my list not in any priority
a) get logging up to date
b) Underline the Boeing production list ( Jet Airliners of the World : Boeing)
c) move my military batches on to a database - probably simple excel sheets by type
d) update my Flickr photos with proper titles
e) sort my biz jets out

That should see me through the summer

PS fix the dripping cold tap in the down stairs toilet

We have recently got most of the house jobs done and the rest will have to wait until we can go out to get supplies etc. My wife and I now have space to carry out our separate indoor hobbies which will help - when I'm not working from home).

Like you I have logging to catch up with and thousands of images to catalogue plus old slides/prints to convert to digital format, so hardly looking for something to do! Still have some 1970s/80s magazines to re-read too.

One annoyance is that I recently got a new lens and can't try it out properly (only so many things in the garden worth photographing!

I love working in the garden but since this Covid 19 pandemic I seem to have lost interest , during these worrying times. I shall motivate myself to mow the lawns tomorrow 😊

I still have to go to work. I chose the wrong trade, working in the funeral business. Mind you, no traffic going to and fro work.

I mowed the front lawn on Tuesday and I am saving the back lawn for something to do next week!

Even taken to a bit of star gazing in these wonderfully clear nights - Sirius is looking very bright in the south.

Like Slogen, mowed the front lawn yesterday, doing back lawn this afternoon, before tomorrows possible rain.Have a reasonable sized garden, and am painting 1 fence panel a day to spread things out. My wife and I have separate hobbies, and we have set ourselves a routine. Both retired [me 77, her just 70]. Hours television at 9a.m., followed by an hours reading in the conservatory, tea and biccies at 11, her on an hours hobby, me preparing fence for painting. Hours reading, then lunch, painting fence for an hour, then hours reading, mowing lawn, then hour telephone family, I pad etc. etc. 5pm walk [village, so very little contact with others, and at a distance anyway, 10 minutes exercise round the patio several times a day, then the haunted fish tank [T.V.] for a couple of hours, then computer and modelling for me, sewing for her, and that's another day gone. We are amazed that we are not bored!!!. [But aren't usually anyway]. I feel for people who are in trouble, having problems with this virus etc., when I have only lost two of my four passions, aeroplanes and motor racing, and am left with just sunshine and pretty women. Important!. Don't do too much of anything at a time. Set a routine, and stick with it. We have been amazed at where the hours have gone!. Stay well and safe, kind regards from John and Teresa.

Getting a bit bored

Spotting cancelled
Pubs shut
Golf close
Gym closed

Fortunately the internet is still on and I have a shed load of tissue.
