Scramble report that the 3 x P-3C's belong to VP-5,VP-8 and VP-10,so it looks like 163291 belongs to VP-5.

The New Zealand crew were in Tescos in Forres at half 3 this afternoon, are you sure they've left?

I took a wonder over to Kinloss earlier and the Kiwi P3 wasn't there, so he must have gone home. Also there was alot of activity around the US P3s :S

A very reliable report on Scotavnet tonight says that the USN P-3C's are used on a "pool" basis for exercises and that :-

163291 was operated by a VP-62 crew,158921 by a VP-5 crew and 162316 by a VP-45 crew.

Shock Horror!

We just had a military aircraft movement from either Lossie/Kinloss - I instinctively thought "Nimrod" (I wish) - that's what it sounded like, didn't see it though.

Any ideas?

Could be, but it sounded so like a Nimrod on climb out - wishful thinking I guess
