Possible Tucano Detachment

Post by np1991 » Tue Jan 19, 2010 5:49 pm

Arriving at Kinloss this afternoon (3.30 - 4.30ish) were 8 possibly 9 tucanos, all called swift as their callsigns, but scanner died after 5 then seen another flight of 3. Also noticed a VC-10 at VASS, didn't get serials for any, sorry.
Cheers Niall

They were very active yesterday (Wednesday), a similar quantity stayed for two weeks last September although those were notified in advance on on http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafkinloss/flyinginfo/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
There was a VC10 doing circuits around 1230 on Monday which I am told was XV101/S.

Lossiemouth has been dead as a dodo, they have just recently started flying again over the last two days, only movements in December were the Alpha Jets.

I'll be going to Kinloss and Lossie 2-3 times a week from July when I get my free bus pass so can post more frequently then, unfortunately mostly after the event. Movements at Kinloss have been rather run of the mill this year, mainly VC10, Tucano and the occasional Typhoon or Tornado overshoot.
