No one is really going to tell you on a public forum, what you need to know. If anyone does, they do not actually know. Us peeps that DO know, will not be letting any sort of info out

As you say, just wait and see.
Cracking, you must be sleeping with someone in the MOD as even the people on the Sqn do not know the number yet :P

Yup, it has nothing to do with the new Typhoon squadron.

How many airframes does the average squadron have?

For a Typhoon squadron, about 12 - though 6 Sqn seems to have about 20 . . . .

Didnt 6 aircraft leave a couple of months ago and get distributed to the other Typhoon squadrons ? leaving 6sqn with a "normal" amount of aircraft

6sqn have a normal amount of aircraft PLUS four aircraft for northern QRA duty. So they have 16 aircraft.

According to my obsession, oops, sorry records, 6sqn have 20 aircraft on strength.

The 7 early Tr2 aircraft that were returned/swapped with Coningsby were kinda swapped on a one for one with new airframes. Im sure all will come out in the wash over the next 6 months!
Arabest,
Geoff.
