Fighter Control member makes the front page

Well it was on the St Andrews News if that counts - not sure how to post a link
but just click on st andrews news - although you will need a password (which i don't have) to view the full article .
Andy Warhol promised me 15 min of fame but i think i only got 5 if that , we were the only 2 mugs hanging about at the bottom while everybody else was at the end of 29.
A nice lady called Rosemary (i think) asked for our thought's on the end of 111 SQN & the F.3
& then went on to tell us about her meeting with the Defence Minister who on asked what was going to happen to Leuchars replied, well the Army has to go somewhere

The Defence Minister when asked how the Tories will do in Scotland said - "Not this Year, in fact Tories in Scotland, don't make me laugh".
I never want to see anything other than RAF Aircraft at Leuchars, Army in my book will not be welcome.

Would you not rather see it occupied by the Army than completely vacated?

Thankfully there is a bigger picture to look at! While im not over enthusiastic about the army moving in, i do see what benefits will come to the wider community. How many personnel have been at Leuchars in the last few years at any one time? As much as 5000?

In answer to your question SteveS I would rather see it still in use as an RAF Typhoon Base - End of. Like everyone else I'm sad the Tornado's are being retired but we must move on and the future of Leuchars must be Typhoons.
