Well done to the pilot, shame an F3 had to have a mishap like that so close to retirement, just like the Harrier that had a bird strike a couple of weeks before retirement, im sure the government sets it up just to make the retirment of an aircraft look like the best thing to do! lol.

Did they collide or was it something else? Bit of a oh fudge for the F3 :'( :'( At least they got down! :thumb:

Could have had the basket in the canopy during air to air re fuelling possibly?

Hi Gang

with regards to a bird strike, it does not have to be the size of an ostrich to cause damage, Take a few things in to consideration, fast jet at high speed at low level plus small bird = high impact. Have seen a few in my time while in the Raf it frankly does not take much so bear this in mind, it only takes a split second and a split second if a low level to crash.
