Post by JHolden92 » Wed Aug 25, 2021 2:57 pm

2 days later than planned the T2s arrived throughout the day.
4 parked on ASP5
ZK017
ZK018
ZK021
ZK031

ZK018 is airborne at the moment on a local sortie

They should be here until the end of the week

Just a fleeting drive-by at Leuchars this afternoon - I should be grateful for the IDs of the pairs landing noted at approx. 1.20 pm.

Hi Ian, Keenan

13.20 Cutlass 2 ZK018/I, Straight in approach after talkdown communication problems, land.

13.23 Cutlass 1 ZK017/H, Cutlass 3 ZK021/L, pairs PAR, land.

The Cutlass 3 ship later departed on a local sortie @ 15.38 as follows;

Cutlass 1 ZK018 / I
Cutlass 2 ZK021 / L
Cutlass 3 ZK017 / H

All 3 landed back 16.51 - 53.

17.10 Typhoon 07, Coningsby Typhoon overshoot, vfr to South.

This morning;
9.49/9.59/10.08 Pirate 17, 3 x radar PARS, low apps.

11.13 Victor Yankee Tango 25, PAR, land to ASP 5.
ZK031/FG.

That should clear up some of the typos, perhaps?

Looking at Raf Valley section, it appears Cutlass is actually a 25 Sqn Callsign, so a mini 25 Sqn detachment by look of it?

Cheers,
Mike

Mike and Scorpont

Thank you for the excellent logs for today - which effectively answer my query

Good to see reports of greater substance from Leuchars - if not quite on the scale of an earlier era!

Not sure what C/S it's used, but ZK035/FK has just come up from Valley and is currently (0933L) turning long final for 08

Totally forgot about these and was surprised to see them taking off yesterday, which is just as well as 017 cleared my fleet! :clap:

Now, if you are sending Chinooks next week....... :whistle:

Geoff.

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed their visit.
It was great to be down and know there was a real chance of catching something.
Good company too....👍

Agreed Chris! I went along on Thursday afternoon after work, was great to see some fast jets on the tarmac again and a fairly busy afternoon
