Re: Ospreys and Stallion
Looking on adsb, it looks like an interesting day up in Fife. Anyone know how long they are in the area for?

Can anyone confirm if 2 Apaches are flying around east of the base?

1x AH-1Z Cobra

Info Current 13:23L
162001 CH53 YS-21
163060 CH53 YS-23
168333 MV22 YS-04
168666 MV22 YS-13
These are the confirmed airframes that I sighted myself - there was a Super Huey and a Cobra, I personally couldn't get the serials although they just did some low passes so the folks who are there right now may have gotten a better look

Re: Ospreys and Stallion
Thanks, are you sure that 168666 was coded '12', as it's been reported elsewhere as being '13'?
Re: Ospreys and Stallion
Sounds like an epic day down there, you just need a couple of AV-8s to appear
Re: Ospreys and Stallion
That's twice I've let that typo slip by me
Re: Ospreys and Stallion
With thanks to Scotavnet :- "166723/YS02 is just lifting from Prestwick now (15.10), call sign 'Vortex 15' clearance was 'to ship-8 miles East of Leuchars' "

Thanks for the information any idea if they will be around at the weekend?
Re: Ospreys and Stallion
Watched them all in the distance from a high hill behind Fowlis. It was quite a sight!
Re: Ospreys and Stallion
From videos I'm seeing, a second Cobra joined in and the Huey went back feet wet

Re: Ospreys and Stallion
Thanks for the info Balamory. Another quick question to anyone, are these easily photographed from the area around the western end of the runway, and would it be worth going out to the St Andrews area, as they seemed to be transiting near there all day.
Thanks

Does anyone know if anything is going to turn up today? The weather doesn’t look to great so I was wondering if that’s possibly stopped them from turning up today.

Re: Ospreys and Stallion
Unfortunately, it looks like the poor weather has curtailed flying today, that's a shame for folk that have travelled.
Supposed to have been beach landings at Tentsmuir and Barry Buddon I believe.

That's ok, you were correct, some great views from the Links Clubhouse and West Sands yesterday, especially when coming back into Leuchars!toom317 wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 8:51 pmThanks for the info Balamory.
