I read elsewhere that they will return to EGQL (to stay) either this week or next.

no, it was always the plan to return after the airshow, and re-group. The aircraft are planned to start arriving Tomorrow, which will be a single jet, followed by the rest of the Sqn next week, starting on Thursday.

When 6 Sqdn do actually return, where will they operating from? One of the HAS Sites or on the main apron area?

I'll probably get shot-down in flames by saying this but don't expect a sudden rush of new deliveries from Warton, they've only delivered 3 new Typhoons to the RAF this year - ZK306,7 and 9 !

In 9 months. :S

Yeah Mike, i think ukmil quoted 18 typhoons for 6sqn but i very much
doubt it,i would probably say another 6 at a push maybe :S
hope ukmil is right mindyou that would be good :thumb:

no at present, that is all that that are allocated. However, there are 18 planned over the coming months, as long as the SDR does not effect it

seeker33 wrote:You'd think that 6 sqn could use a T3, and ZK303 awaits at Warton. Whether or not this will go straight to 6 or to Coningsby for acceptance remains to be seen. According to BMAL, FGR4's ZK308 and ZK310 are also resident at Warton, flying unmarked, with a further 3 completed jets in 'primer'.

None of the squadrons at Coningsby have 18 jets (although that doesn't mean that 6 won't have). It'll be interesting to see who gets what as new airframes become available.
nope, ZK310 is going to six, as is ZK308 which is EF. But the first twin on six will be ZK380

I think they'll borrow one from Coningsby until they get their own, they'll probably end-up with 2 eventually.
They'll need them for check-flights etc.,just like the Jaguar & Lightning squadrons did.

Why are most things Mr ukmil posts instantly questioned?

No-one else on the board seems to get so rough a ride from other members?

I have no wish to cause any offence here just interested to understand logic behind this. :pop:

I would urge caution to all, sooner or later he may take offence. That usually means a lost member.

A lot of forums are not interested if they lose a member, we at FC are!

Many thanks. :)

it's ok Goose, sometimes people just don't realise that some people do actually know 'Facts' and don't just go around speculating, and they can't handle that.

In fact, in starting my new job this week, i was able to confirm exactly what aircraft are coming and when :thumb:

Isn't it always the same mate. Some years back I received 2 telephone calls stating that a B1B which I had logged at EGQL (overshoot) was incorrect.

Now that in itself wasn't too bad, but the 2 guys who called me up, weren't even there!

BTW: I was right.
