The Army & HASs?

Just been asked an interesting question, what do the Army use the HAS Areas for? I suggested that the RAF still used the South side but didn’t know what the old 43 Sqdn Area was used for.

If it was anything like when the army took over Bruggen the HAS’s were used for vehicle and equipment storage to keep them out of inclement weather.At Bruggen they even removed the doors on one HAS at least and fitted a roller shutter door.

I was on the base a couple of weeks ago and on the old 43sqn HAS site, most of the buildings are empty including HAS's. Still in operational order re doors etc but unused. A few do seem to have logistics type equipment in them. The taxi ways between them are becoming derelict.
