ZK556 did a missed approach at Aberdeen yesterday (serial from ADS-B), but I don't think any have been confirmed by the Mk.1 eyeball method yet!

Just passed the base and all seems quiet on the airfield.

about 13:30 this afternoon while walking over the Barry/Buddon ranges we were overflown by what looked like a Sentinel which was headed roughly in the Leuchars direction at low altitude We were looking right into the sun so couldn't get a good look. There was the possibility it was a civil for Dundee Airport but nothing shown on FR24.Would be grateful for any help on ID.

Thanks

Keith

Hi Keith

It was a commercial jet from Dundee. It has been in and out twice today.

Can't recall serial offhand but is US registered IIRC

Might have been Gulfstream N102NY

Thanks Chris sun was playing havoc and by the time we got a good look it was too far away.Didnt look as if it was heading for Dundee but they do sometimes do quite tight turns near the bridges.

Thanks again

Keith

Apart from two or three Airshows appearances have Leuchars (both RAF and (Army) Station) had many visits by Sentinals?

Wow, watching that reminds me of the Chinook displays at the Leuchars Airshow.

17.37 Boxer 21, 6 Sqn Typhoon FGR4, low approach, back to radar for another low approach and join visual circuit for as long as he wants, Runway 08.

2 visual circuits and depart @ 17.51 to the north.

What makes you think that this has anything to do with the exercise?
