Not very busy? Compared to a normal day the C-130s were in and out as were the Apaches. Both types numerous times.
It is also a shame the locals block the space by the burger van, restricting others from parking and buying :-)

Colin,
It was not me looking for a parking space. Also from what I was told they were not very talkative to non locals.
But thank you for the posts you do make.

Hi guys
Can anyone provide an update for today?
Are all 4 Apache’s and 3 Chinook’s still there?

Only seen two Apaches fly late this afternoon/early evening: ZJ215 and ZJ224. Two Chinooks parked up in the southern HAS site, whilst the third (ZK553) was doing an exercise on the runway 04 threshold. ZH883 and ZH868, both C-130s parked on ASP3 and ZH005, the Defender AL2 was parked up on ASP1.

Passed there at 19:40 tonight [Saturday] and 2 Apaches and AAC Islander parked up, glimpsed an Apache in the hangar [The large hangar nearest to the access road into the base] only had time to get an eyes right as i passed by, maybe more than one in there.....?
Chinook was also up as i drove from St Andrews.....3 bods

suspended from the rear....stopped traffic anyway !!!
As i type this [11pm] I hear distant Rotary wing, possibly Apaches?

ZH001 and ZH005 are both Defenders, not Islanders. It is a modified version of the Islander, with a stretched fuselage and larger wing. Although they look like an Islander, they are called Defender.
