Where is the Spitfire LA255 residing at Leuchars? I remember it at the Airshow in 2012 and wondered where it was now?

Does anyone know if 1sq & 6sq have allocated station callsign blocks, similar to how Coningsby are? (i.e. 1sq have LEUww-xx, 6sq have LEUyy-zz)?

Cheers!

Hi Mike,

Just after a little clarification after Kev's post. Is ZK331 coded FE, fully marked up or still as EE with 6Sqn?

Cheers mate

Steven.

If EE has been re-marked FE it must have been done between fri 5th and tues 9th July as I noted it flying in 6Sqn colours last thursday afternoon. As for EQ changing to FK when was this noted? Also ZK345/EP has been active with 6Sqn for a couple weeks at least, I will check later for the precise date.

Seems like we have two marked as FE - '337 at Coningsby with no squadron marks but flying with 3 sqn and '331 at Leuchars flying with 1 sqn in full marks.

I can only update the listing by collating reports from reliable sources, and reports on here are getting very few and far between (especially from members living virtually on the RAF Leuchars door-step) - where's the original post that said that ZK345 was flying as EP, apologies if I missed it ?

Any help is much appreciated. :)

Has a posting gone missing or have i just missed something? :S

Not seen much mention of anything from Leuchars of late and certainly not heard of any changes to the fleet! But then i dont take notice if im not chasing any new deliveries!

Not been over there much myself in the last few month as i have a few issues to deal with that could see me out of a job in a years time! However, im sure that wont happen!!!

Geoff.

Sorry Geoff, I wasn't taking about you fella - I was talking about the lack of reports from members that live far closer to Leuchars than your good self.

The best of luck with your job. :)

You've lost me there fella, if it was noted as EP on 25/06 - how do you know it was marked up between 10/06 - 25/06 ?

Can anyone tell me why no-one on FC posts Leuchars movements anymore - unless they're visiting aircraft, and even that's like drawing teeth ?

Thanks for that, I'm only doing this based aircraft listing to help fellow enthusiasts and hopefully I'll manage to get to Lossie in a few days time to see my very first "ZK" Typhoon. :)

Could anyone that visits Leuchars please post a movements log as any help is very much appreciated. ;)

Thanks guys.

Mike,
That first part i expect from some other posters here! I take it the events surrounding your team are affecting you just now!!! :P

I expect people are not bothering with Leuchars much these days as Typhoons dont exactly set their ass on fire when they depart! The place is like a ghost town at times as well with visitors very few and far between!!! Its so bad that you would think the place was shut already!!! Unless someone is keeping them all to themselves which i know he doesnt! :ninja: I also believe that its usually the same 4/8 jets multiple times that go up on any given day. Added to that there has been 2 foreign deployments means it has been quiet at times and no new deliveries for a few months! Oh and as you point out elsewhere, dont expect an exciting Leuchars log for the next 2 weeks!!! But after that there may be a couple of new airframes for me to chase by then! But i doubt it!!!
Arabest,
Geoff.
