Cheers balamorybuzzed. I thought that would have been the case. It’s supposed to be like this tomorrow as well but the wind looks a lot better so can only hope.balamorybuzzed wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 12:36 pmUnfortunately, it looks like the poor weather has curtailed flying today, that's a shame for folk that have travelled.
Supposed to have been beach landings at Tentsmuir and Barry Buddon I believe.

Can we see some of these pictures you all have, I have seen some of the LCAs on Flickr very impressive but would be nice to see some of the aviation assets,

Nice photos

Re: Ospreys and Stallion
What a fantastic group of helicopters, wow awesome. The Stallion, 2 Ospreys, a UH-1 and the Cobra would love to see them.
Re: Ospreys and Stallion
Fantastic photos. Thanks for sharing them. Wish I had been able to make it to see the action.

Sadly it looks like it’s going to be another no show today as well.
Re: Ospreys and Stallion
Aside from a pair of pheasants having a domestic dispute, there was nothing to see today. Walked all the way along to the beach at the expense of my ability to walk any distance for a couple days now.111blackmike wrote: ↑Sun May 09, 2021 11:55 amSadly it looks like it’s going to be another no show today as well.
Re: Ospreys and Stallion
Not a productive day today. 6 hours standing at the car park, but caught up with a few folk, which helped pass the day.

Carpark wasn't much better, only saw a few seagulls and a couple of crows in the fields.scorpont wrote: ↑Sun May 09, 2021 5:30 pmAside from a pair of pheasants having a domestic dispute, there was nothing to see today. Another quick question to anyone, are these easily photographed from the area around the western end of the runway, and would it be worth going out to the St Andrews area, as they seemed to be transiting near there all day.
Thanks
Howdo all, Balamory, apologies for yet another location request, but could you confirm which car park and fence line you are referring too? Are we talking about Earlshall Road or the area to the South West of the field, off Main St?
Sincere thanks in advance, Danny

Hi Danny on the Guardbridge-Leuchars road, just on the corner at the junction to head to the camp, there is a blue shipping container next to the fence, you cant miss it. Room for a about 10 or so cars if parked sensibly.
Cheers.

Re: Ospreys and Stallion
A very disappointing weekend for all that travelled, sorry to hear that.
Vortex 12 has been active here for the last hour or so, in and out every half hour or so and landing right based over Guardbridge for Runway 08.
