All four Apaches outside at 1130 this morning.
ZJ218 minus main and tail rotors, stub wing and horizontal tail plane and radar
ZJ220 as above but still had radar.
Looked like ready for being airlifted.
Other two intact but all bagged up.
Couldn't read the Herc and no sign of the Chinooks. (or anything else.)

Have all the Helicopters and Hercules etc left Leuchars now or are there any still about?

Always disappointed me that Army didn’t base any helicopters at Leuchars. Personally that would have taken some of the disappointment away when the RAF Typhoons left.

The two dismantled Apaches were still on the ramp very close to the road when I came past at around 6pm last night (Saturday 21st).

With thanks to Scotavnet :-

Apaches are ZJ218 & ZJ220. Two low loaders arrived this morning, so looks like they are going back to Wattisham by road.

Guess they were short of trucks as I reported them ready on September 19th!
Pity you never got a C-17.
