They should all be back now. Flying as normal from Leuchars over the past couple of days.

Ok, thanks! How busy is it currently? I'm planning to fly to UK to visit Leuchars in August, is it normally quieter during summer?

Cheers,

Flying from where? I wouldn't make any long trips to Leuchars unless you know there's going to be some flying. Normal flying is now only a handful of sorties a day, 3 or 4 days a week.

Well, Austria. I wanted to some F3s again, before the retire... Was planning to go to Lossie as well, but if Leuchars is that quiet I have to re-think my plans... Is it any day of the week they are flying with high probability?

Thanks,
g.

Midweek is probably your best bet, but not the week before the airshow.

Ok, I'm planning to go there around August 9th... Maybe I'll go to Lossie on Monday and then Leuchars Tuesday or Wednesday.. I'm just hoping to see some of the birds before their time is coming to an end...

Thanks for all the info!!!

Got a bit confused now, as I heard from different people that Leuchars is a bit short of movements... I'm now thinking of going to Kecskemet as an alternative, as there's something flying definitely ;-). Officially, the F3 is going to retire March 2011, right? Is there anything planned for its retirement (any ceremony) or would you think that once some Typhoons are based at Leuchars that there will be more going on (even on the F3 side?).

Cheers,
g.
