Just had a thought over the Weekend, Was reading about Bases in America being called Joint Bases etc Joint Base Andrews etc. Could this have been possible here? And should Leuchars have gone into such a name being jointly operated by Army and Air Force Units?

Would make sense to close Dundee Airport and redevelop that site if a business case is required.
Been hearing some interesting rumours regarding Leuchars, some good, some very bad and some that are not conducive to aircraft ops.

And why would it make sense to close Dundee Airport? And what are you putting in its place? And where are you putting all the infrastructure to handle the commercial flights that they envisage will be attracted to the airfield?
Saw something on the St Andrews photo corner, about car 'Testing' on the southern side of the airfield. This what you've been seeing too ??
If it cant be fixed with a hammer, then its an electrical problem.

Yeah, thats the negative for aircraft ops. Would have been in by now if it wasnt for Covid from what i was told. Always wanted to drive on Leuchars so hopefully have one of my fleet ready in time.
Stay Safe,
Geoff.

There are regular track days at Leuchars already. Believe you can take your own car or do supercar experiences as well. That's been a good couple of years that I've known about it, just never got round to doing it yet.

Thats different to what is mentioned above. The supercar days are run from the old asp3 and along some of the old north taxiway in areas that aircraft dont regularly use. I didnt get the full story, but I understand it's a bigger operation than with the supercars, and although I dont think the south taxiway is in aircraft use, the plans would prevent future use.
