A pair of Chinooks arrived in Edinburgh late on last night. Callsigns Lifter 1 & 2.

Possibly related to exercise?

Thanks guys.

Flight of 4 would have had everyone out of bed - the first one over (Lifter 2) was very loud, even by Chinook standards.😯😁

Unusual too, to have those machines out & about up here so late on.

Sunday would be the 30th......

That's the day after the Exercise starts.

Not heard anything transiting through though, we normally hear helicopters around this neck of the woods. Do they still cross near the Forth Bridges?

Think ti was two years ago got a picture of the Cninooks over Barry Buddon .Both had 6 men dangling on a really long cable and they were moving a fairly high speed at a fairly low altitude.Would have been easy to bash some of the Danglers on the trees..Quite impressive
