Is there a date for the runways being closed and the Typhoons moving to Kinloss/Leucars? June 2020 was mentioned in one article but wondered if any of the locals knew the latest?

Thanks

They should put pieces of it up for sale like they did with The Berlin Wall back in the day certain if marketed right " Genuine concrete from the main 23/05 runway at RAF lossie a piece of classic Scottish Aviation History , Drakens , Starfighters, Orions, Phantoms , Jaguars , Migs21s, F-111s, Shackletons among others all touched down here" somebody would buy it a paper weight if nothing else

Unfortunately no Drakens, F-104's, F111's or Shackletons landed on the current runway surface, so in this day and age they would end up in court under the trade description act

23 end of runway, the concrete has been has been broken up, silos have been assembled on a temporary hard core surface made from the graded concrete off of Delta, the large grass area from the VAS Hut on Delta back to the perimeter road (where the traffic light is) has been covered with the skimmed tar from the Northern taxiway. 05 concrete is being crushed and graded for reuse
