Re: January 2020 Log/Movements

Thanks

Re: January 2020 Log/Movements
Back from Finland? Common to use WTN01A/B on delivery flights so I guess it'd make sense?

So 2 (or more) jets can use the same callsign for ATC comms if being handled by them as a "package". Used widely by European airforces eg Germans. When they split for recovery etc the A/B bit is then also used. Not sure if RAF use it sometimes when using RFR (RAFAIR) callsigns but not when using RRR (Ascot) callsigns!

Yes I realise that now . Totally forgot they had gone to Finland. I thought they were using A/B on local test sorties that's why I thought it was unusual until I realised by scrolling further up!! Whoops

Yes I know a civvie but Finnish evaluation supported by RJ-85 G-JOTA Jota Avn Southend, which appears to have departed WTN late am today as "ENZ788F" to Newcastle, having arrived earlier from Tampere-Pirkkala.
Re the Rafair callsign is still used by Hawks etc on transit to detachments in other Eurropean countries. It was even used by the tucanos when went on a short detachment to Baldonnel (last year?).

I've been listening to my Yupi & Bearcat for the last 25 years .The Brecon Beacons block a lot of aircraft at low altitude, as I'm down in a small blocked valley and I work in the week.

WTN10 airborne in a single seat development typhoon @ 1430z. As expected nothing showing on mode-S sites. Performed a few high level loft attacks on airfield target (from 15-20kft) before recovering @ 1604z. T&G and landed 1610z. Possibly ZK356 (BS117).
WTN69 airborne in ZK303/AX (BT017) @ 1638z.
