Been officially handed over late last month so as far as BAES/MoD concerned (see a previous post) it has been delivered. However, no sign (yet) of it departing on the "ferry flt" this week. Expected it yesterday but no sign of it out on MTA (apron on NW side of field).

Cheers

Fri 4/10/19

"Final" RAF typhoon on "delivery" (excluding those which were retained at Warton for dev use)

"WTN69" depart @ 1024L with ZK437 (BS153) on ferry flight.
Heard manoeuvring in local area just after takeoff (out to west). I think there was a planned photoshoot from N242CV which was cancelled (surprise surprise) due to weather. Traansit to Cby @1038L initial heading 070deg. Climbed to FL280 @ 1038L, descended to FL250 @ 1045L then to FL150 @ 1047L; heading 090deg @1046L. Right 160deg @1052L. Descended to FL100. Hand off to Cby 282.725 @1052L.

Cheers

There was a single RAF FGR4(unmarked) on the North apron at Warton on Thursday(03 Oct) afternoon. Does anyone know if that was ZK437? Thanks.

Sorry for muddying the waters but it could have been ZK350 as it has been seen out on low power EGRs/APU runs very recently on the NW apron (MTA). Did it have a red intake guard fitted? It's usually visible even from a distance. If so, then most likely ZK350 rather than ZK437...then again ZK437 ferry flt could have originally been planned for thurs but for whatever reason didn't happen until fri or it was out for an APU run (wouldn't require an intake guard) prior to the ferry flt the following day. Think I've covered just about every possibility :-)

Cheers

Thanks for the speedy reply. The jet was not fitted with any intake guards and had no GE around it at the time, but I guess it could have been either. Much appreciate the help.

Knowing the way BAES mostly operate then 99.9% likely it was ZK437. I didnt go out to Warton last week so no Mk1 eyeball evidence unfortunately.

Cheers
