March 2019 Logs/Movements
Re: March 2019 Logs/Movements
Did anyone manage to get a photo of today’s B744?
A former colleague of mine was the Captain on it.

Re: March 2019 Logs/Movements
Apparently no hawk fuselages/wingsets were taken out for saudi final assy line (90/100 Stages) this time. 7 hawks remain to go but reports of only pallets being loaded this time. I would imagine BAES are keen to ship the remainder out asap. Same Lump was in 21/12/18 (for previous hawk airfreight).
For the record 4K-SW888 arr as "AZG5831" from Luxembourg @ 1648z and dep as "AZG5832" @ 1932z.
Cheers

Re: March 2019 Logs/Movements
I've heard on the grape vine that an 'antonov' (unspecific) is coming into Warton this week to collect a Typhoon. Can anyone confirm this or elaborate? I'm assuming the 124 would be the most likely?

T29 usually typhoon? I was up in the hills at the back of Scorton and it was loud around 1700?
Re: March 2019 Logs/Movements
Targrt, it was a dev typhoon; looked like single seat possiblywith 41 Sqn mks but sun was very low definately red in mks; only seen briefly thro binos @ 1723z as it recovered over the Fylde close to Lytham (as usual). Landed 25 @1725z no circuits. Took left for taxyways "D" & "E" to 358H apron. I heard what could have been same jet but sounded like it took off on 07, about 5-10mins before G-OWTN departed off 25.
IPA5 aka the hangar queen, may have made a brief appearance airborne rather than one of the 41 jets as it was possibly due to fly this week. BT17 was up Tues. Nothing noted on Mode-S sites.

Local Area
RN Merlin also noted just off Lytham 1145z hdg WNW up coast (as mentioned). No callsign heard; nothing showing on Mode-S unfortunately (yet). Appeared to have come from Warton direction anyhow. Maybe up to Barrow for trials with a sub??

Re: March 2019 Logs/Movements
That’s the impression I was under - that they’ve finished U.K. flights. It had bobbed up on one of the other groups and it got me thinking, hence the question. Just thought I’d check on here before risking a 40 mile drive in rush hour!TombsRIP wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 4:41 pmNo tonkas flying today, only IPA5. Thought both had finished flying in UK (unless they both leave UK under their own steam...who knows where Warton is involved?!).Campbell89 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 3:39 pmHeard on the grapevine that the Saudi Tornado may be on its last U.K. flight today, any else heard this?

One was in pieces in mid-December, it won't be flying again in the UK...TombsRIP wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 4:41 pmNo tonkas flying today, only IPA5.
