RAF Tonka Farewell Flypast Tues 19/2/19

Post by TombsRIP » Mon Feb 11, 2019 10:15 pm

Scheduled for 19th Feb incl Warton, Samlesbury
plus some other, less obvious locations involved in Tornado logistics/LRU deep servicing i.e. Sealand & Stafford.
Total of 18 locations planned on this day's itinery- Also Spadeadam EW range, Leeming, Valley, Linton, Topcliffe, Shawbury, Cosford, National Memorial Arboretum, Cottesmore, Coningsby, Cranwell, Waddington plus east coast ranges Donna Nook & Holbeach.
UPDATE: expecting a 3 ship with the retro camo Tonka plus 9 & 31 Sqns special fin jets between 1300-1500z. Obviously there will be ground spares if (when) any of these go tech.
Cheers

in case you have been on Mars for the last hour or so the 3 tonkas involved in flyby at Warton at 1432z were
ZD716/DH 31 Sqn spcl fin mks (lead ship "Tornado01");
ZD744/092 ("Tornado 02");
ZA542/035 ("Tornado 03").
obviously fin codes 035 & 092 had to replace the
retro camo jet ZG752 (129) & the IX(B) spcl fin ZG775/AF which had gone u/s
