Freezing fog here am so cant see any flying today (weds). Cleared early afternoon but nothing up apart from some civil movements. B73F G-JMCM "Felix(BAE)101" departed 1435z to Cyprus;
3x Valley Hawks (ZK031/032/037) heard conducting ACM training of north Fylde coast between approx 10-20kft @ 1450z for 15-20 mins then to Morecambe Bay area.

Heading up there tomorrow so hopefully it’s more eventful than today. Weather forecast looks a bit better so fingers crossed.

poss on a turnround for another sortie.
WTN10 airborne 1127z in IPA6 and landed 1209z off ILS to rwy25.
Martin-Baker operated Be200 G-BGRE "Martin01" dep 1213z. fairly regular visitor unlike any of their Meteors (only seen one of them here a few years ago now).
hopefully CS3 up pm (WTN09).

Just had a low pass from Grob G115E. Looks like it came from Woodvale judging by FR24.

CS3 started up approx 14.30

CS3 "WTN09" seen on climbout just off Lytham (fairly sporty climb) @ 1438z believed to be going Low Level in LFA7 in about 45 mins. Looked to be carrying a Damocles pod on fwd left shoulder pylon plus grey 1500 lit tanks inboard and C/Measures pods outboard.
Pity the sun now low and light fading.

formation of 2 Grobs "Mersey Form" seen over Lytham @ 1518z hdg back to Woodvale (G-BYUI + BYVP read off). Latter fairly recent addition to Woodvale fleet ex Wittering (f/n Nov 18).

Update: WTN09 now heading for some low flying in Wales (LFA7 Mach Loop etc) 1523z.

Are we sure he didn't head for the lakes as he dropped off radar over Morecambe Bay??

CS3 was around 1500 ft over south shore just before IPA6 took off, dropped off ADSB shortly after.

CS3 was descending for low level at 1523z hdg towards N.Wales coast. Before that it was off Fylde coast (Fleetwood) & over M.Bay. It was in LFA7 when IPA6 departed. After LL stint it was back off Fleetwood/Fylde coast and Walney Is area around 14kft, just before 1600z. WTN09 recovered via ILS app 25 and landed back 1622z.
WTN69 in IPA6 rec via ILS app 25 and land 1638z

Thanks, I was basing it on ADSB which isn’t the most accurate!

All in all a decent day at Warton. 2 Typhoon sorties and one Tornado. Have to say though the Typhoon seemed a little dull after having a full reheat take off from the Tornado just before it!
