WTN69 up in ZK303/AX (BT017).
Performed a Surveillance Radar Approach (SRA)/
"Talkdown" to rwy 25 just after T/o 1346z.
Simulated "heavyweight" low Approach and overshoot @ 1354z. Then depart for a Practice Diversion (PD) to Valley. Sounds like aircrew Continuation Training (CT) sortie.
Land time u/k presume performed a few circuits before landing.

WTN69 dep 07 @ 1121z.Dev single seat typhoon.
seen later on low overshoot rwy 25 (from Lytham) presume off ILS app.Then "turned back" and landed 07 @ 1244z. Not on mode-S/adsb.

Possibly IPA5 out on "sunset strip" (apron opposite hush house next to southern perimeter) on ground trials during the week.

2x development typhoons seen on climbout off rwy 25 (stream T/o) @ 1109z. WTN69 in either BS116 or BS117 + WTN10 in BT017 (Tarnish 10 - new 'test' pilot ex Rebel 58?).
WTN69 recover with 2xSRA Talkdowns rwy25 and low app/overshoots @ 1240/1250z (for ATC training?); then ILS25+overshoot 1259z into visual circuit behind WTN10 & land 1303z.
WTN10 also recover SRA 25 & land 1301z.

C-130J-30 05-1435 [AE143D] "RCH657" 143rdAS/143thAW Rhode Is ANG, seen coasting out over Southport 1123z FL280 I/b Aldergrove (Belfast Intl);
was followed by 99-1432 "RCH172" @ FL260 approx 5 mins later tracking slightly more to sth and west but not seen.

ZE114 (CS003/rsaf 703) seen on climbout off rwy 25 @ 1257z. As usual flown by WTN09.
Appears to be heading over towards the east coast possibly inbound Coningsby (1315z) for a practice diversion otherwise to an east coast range (Donna Nook or Holbeach); back in MBay area/off Hilpsford Point around 1400z; self-pisitioned for ILS25 and land 1415z.

Visible from Warton (1550z)
Phenom ZM333 "CWL30" NDB/DME App rwy 28 to Blackpool & go round after 2 holds @ "BPL" beacon (1538-42z).

ZE114 (CS3) "WTN09" dep off rwy07 @ 1149z
showing as "TN09ID2" on PlaneFinder tracker site as usual plus as "753/ZE114" on adsb exchange. Hdg towards Holbeach again by looks of it. Handed over to swanwick mil 270.05 (1158z). Back with Warton @ 1245z.
Seen 1304z running in from west (flythrough?);
then 2x airfield tgt attacks west>east (seen i/b on "dive attacks" 1307/09z); then positioned for simulated single engine assymetric SRA to rwy 07 & low overshoot 1317z; land 1319z.
Just another day in the office...

all I could see from Lytham, when it was on the SRA (Talkdown) to rwy 07, was a targeting pod under the front fuselage (fwd shoulder pylon) possibly a Damocles, and grey 1500 lit tanks inboard with ECM/chaff & flare pods outboard underwing.

ZE114 (CS3) "WTN09" up again 3rd day in a row.
T/o 1020z approx (from mode-S sites); heard I/b from west @ 1057z initials & land rwy 07 1059z.
"Tarnish 9" airborne again 1256z. Another relatively short flt. seen i/b wings swept 1323z initials 07 & land 1325z.

Delivery of ZK436 (BS152) to Cby dep 1250z off rwy07 csign "WTN10". To NW initially. Started to head east approx 1320z.

Is ZE114 a developmental aircraft or is it simply one that RSAF are having problems with hence the extended time at Warton?

ex in-service jet being used for development (Tornado Sustainability Programme). Also ZE119 (CS6) at Warton but no longer flying (to be airfreighted back to ksa in very near future?).

Ah ok. I’m guessing the Saudi’s are keeping the Tornado in service for a few more years then? At least it gives us chance to still see them even when the RAF sadly retire them.

I think CS3 is also due to return to ksa but there has been much speculation as to when. It may have gone by time the RAF retire theirs. Obviously not going this week!!

ZJ700 (IPA5) believed to have been out for ground trials again on "sunset strip".

(5th sortie this week); seen running in for initials wings swept, just off Lytham @1110z break 07 & landed 1112z. Another relatively short flt.

"WTN10" T/o 1137z in development typhoon.
Had taxied out & back in earlier with issue.
