Slow going yesterday on the perch.

Post by Tarnish9 » Sat Feb 24, 2018 2:37 pm

Turned up just after 09.00 one other spotter already there and keen as it was a cold crisp sunny morning. Stuart turned up not long after, a couple of passes from two Tucano's, regular Eastern flight then nothing till after lunch time 13.00ish.

Myself and Stuart ended up opposite the hut for the hot air ballon, then the farmer asked us for 5 minutes of our time to help move some sheep from one field to another. No problem, don't mind helping the locals out especially if he lets us stand on his land without any problem. Just after this we seemed to get over run with activity. Piper Cherokee turned up doing touch n goes then some other type of low wing trainer not sure what it was but gladly welcomed as it had been quiet all morning.

Heard the call from Tarnish69 for start up, yeah buzzing now as just as that was called a Strike Master decided to drop in for some touch n goes. Got some lovely pictures against a blue sky. T69 took off on 07 so where Stuart, John and I was stood and banked right over our heads to follow the estuary out. More visits from the Strike Master and Cessna's and other small aircraft. T69 was out for a while so when he came back in on 07 we decided to call it a day, was about 16.00hrs now.

Just like to say thank you to Stuart, John for the company and also to Ray who came down to see us and gave me some nice little badges for my hat. Thank you Ray, chuffed to bits mate :thumb:

Just goes to show what turns up when you stand there and think it is a day of blanks.

Thank you to to all I have met of late, proper nice people, makes it worth a visit.

See you all again in the coming week.

Woar that is awesome Andy. Not seen the video before. Scares me a little to see them flying slowly, looks like they going to drop out of the sky like a dead weight, especially fast jets. Thanks for the sharing the link mate.
