Reading Martin's description of yesterday's flying was interesting and I really do appreciate his concise reporting
of the facts, however nothing beat's actually being present when the GR4 flies a low level overshoot (2) and joy of joy after IPA 6 rotates dry with the EJ 200s so loud even on military power.

I have left the best to last Typhoon ZK 425 taxies along runway 25 turns short of the piano keys lines up brings
the EJ 200s to mil power, plugs in the afterburner's is airborne in a shade over 6 seconds rotated into a near vertical climb, the EJ 200 are glowing at the top of the climb flips inverted to prevent redeye and back into
another vertical climb.

When both Typhoons Returned to the circuit they did a number of dry T & Gs. So thanks again for Martin & Christian for these interesting reports.

Thanks for that "waxing lyrical" piece of writing John. Have you ever thought of being a cog in the not so well oiled BAE Systems sales & marketing machine? Sounds like they could do with you...

Unfortunately back to the humdrum and adding to yesterdays "clinical" log:

ZK425 (BS141) 1st airtest since coming out of short term storage
- also pretty sure it was its first flt painted . WTN69 did 2 SRAs (talkdowns) to rwy 25 for the benefit of ATC training (as he appears to do frequently, guess he is the CTP after all). He did a low overshoot off the first SRA at 1725z then a t&g after the second at 1735z; then a visual circuit to land 1737z.
Pity he wasn't up abit earlier...same old story at Warton.

WTN05 in IPA6 late downwind & t&g 1743z and land 1746z.

Cheers

On way in for rwy 07 (t&gs/circuits). Seen over Lytham 1442z after dep Blackpool on rwy 10.
Think its going to "HIGHKEY" in overhead first.
Ex saudi Strikemaster Mk80A (serial 1112). Pity not in mil camo!

Hi Christian,
Without appearing pedantic the J41 is the CBY-MRH shuttle. I recall seeing it parked up at Marham a few years ago for the return service later pm but with the current schedule it returns back to Warton am now. Eastern Airways (Air Kilroe) are based at HUY.

Rebel 58 ("Luke Skywalker") was up again in IPA6 yesterday.

Cheers

Thanks Martin, I am aware the J.41 is the CBY-MRH Shuttle, I was following it this morning and it appeared to be circling Doncaster region before returning back to Warton.
Thanks for clearing up why it often flies to Humberside, always wondered.

Updated yesterdays log for IPA6, looks like its due out again today.

Just seen a Falcon 20 into Warton - didn't see it overshoot, so presumably it landed.

Yes for whatever reason the Cobham FA.20 departed back to Durham Tees Valley and both Typhoons were tucked up in bed.
