Re: Operational Log for June, 2010.
Thursday the 24th, June, is definately a date for the diary because one of Warton Test Pilots
Nat Makepeace, hopefully if work committments allow, will be attending our Avro Lancashire
Aviation Society monthly meeting to give an insight into his flying career. The lecture will be at The BAE Systems Lightning Social Club commencing at 20.00hrs.
Now if this wasnt enough there will be a special tornado flying through Preston from London through
to Carlisle its serial number is 60163 this excursion replaced the one from April the 21st, as soon as I get the times I will update them on this thread

Re: Operational Log for June, 2010.
Thursday 3.6.10 I had a Cumbrian away day, 10am to 2.0pm at D510 for FAC which was just JFATSU
T1 Hawks mostly about 5k only came down low level occasionally. Bet 10am to 13.00 a few GR4s
a Lossie callsign a Marham GR4 MRM 31 + Rebel 83 in 41 SQ GR4 from CBY.
14.30 went to the South Tynedale light Railway at Alston.I went up the Tynedale Valley to Kirkhaugh,
it is a 50 minute round trip, there is a buffet on board and you can walk back to Alston, by a track next to the railway, absolutely stunning views.

Re: Operational Log for June, 2010.
The afternoon promised much but little happened, first the Saudi Typhoon was towed away, laterjohnhowe wrote:Friday 4th, June 11.50am. Glorious sunshine, England Batting.

Tarnish 17 taxied out in the 11 SQ Typhoon coded DZ he went to the end of 08 and then the sortie
was scrubbed, on the southside at 358 another Saudi Typhoon coded 304 was doing engine runs, but
they ended and the Pilot got out.
Only other thing of interest part from ZG 969 and Grobs doing circuits was Tarnish 14 in the Jet Provost out on a flight. England finished on 275.5 KP 64 Bell 87no. bad light stopped play.
I guess next week we will actually see some Typhoons flying. Edit 6pm 5.6.10. I deleted IZ27/IZ30 but it was nice to see The Duchess arriving on time, I managed to get to Weeton to film after her departure from Bpool.

35 Flybys but broke off a few times due to other aircraft. Circuits commenced at 13.55 about 5 minutes a circuit.
Tarnish 5 taxied out in 11 SQ Typhoon, coded DZ turned at Charlie I thought this is going to be one hell of a PFAT but no such luck, just like Friday its gone tech and later towed back into hangar.
during the day we had a base Hawk & a PC 9 in the circuit.
15.55 Saudi Air Force C130 Hercules coded 1623 landed and taxied to cargo.
As I have to put my theatre hat on tonight left early for tea, before the heavy rain arrived which
appeared to be imminent. The forecast for the next couple of days is not too promising, but thursday
hopefully will be better to get our lenses out.
Re: Operational Log for June, 2010.
Heads up team, LOP 19, Tucano from Linton, en route for a PD currently.
Re: Operational Log for June, 2010.
Log for Wed 9th,June.
I arrived at about 11.30am Tarnish 5 was above the low cloud cover and although aircraft were using
08 he landed in the 11SQ Typhoon coded DZ on R26 after a sortie.
Saudi Air force C130 callsign SAF 605 serial 1623 rotated low along 08.
On the north apron was IPA 1 ZJ 699 and a primer Typhoon which was out all day and had not moved
when I left at 17.30pm.
Edit during the afternoon Navy 210 called Warton en-route for Woodvale.

Re: Operational Log for June, 2010.
Another interesting day at Warton.
10.34am WTN 1a & WTN 1B two RSAF Typhoons on delivery to the Royal Kingdom.
11.10am Tarnish 5 in Hawk T2 ZK 0?2 it may be 32. 11.55am lands
11.23am Linton 68 Tucano ZF 210.
11.28am Lima 03 Hawk T1 XX 203 CC
12.02pm L 61 Tuc to high to read.
Navy 210 215 & 220 out of Woodvale.
13.15pm Victor 32 XX 314 on ILS.
14.00 ATC info that 2 JPS flying in Southport area, at the same time 123.6 Carlisle had Joker 1 & others doing ILS
14.01 Tarnish 12 In T1 XX321
14.04 Tarnish 5 in BT23 ZK 074 Primer Typhoon out on sortie. As I type this in Library it sounds as though ZK 074 has RTB
+ Tarnish 12 in XX 321 not quite as noisy.
As you can see a fantastic day at Warton. for the serials of the Saudi Typhoons see Mickeys Pics later.

Thursday Log Cont.
After Tarnish 5 RTBd in BT 23.
Tarnish 17 rotated from 08 in IPA 1 ZJ 699 fully bombed up on RTB did a couple of rollers and landed.
When IPA 1 landed there were 2 other Typhoons both primer on the north apron, the primer Typhoons were towed away and out came IPA 6 and 2 SQ Typhoons. I waited until 17.30pm but no
other movements looked likely so I left. Roll on Friday. + A U/I T2 with a Stampede callsign was RTB
Valley.
On the ATC we had an Archer callsign was this the Jet Provosts or was it something else, THe Joker
callsign at Carlisle what aircraft do they refer to as they are at Carlisle again tomorrow.

Re: Operational Log for June, 2010.
Log for Friday 11th June, Nice to see the Moderators doing there job routing out the trivia, I just hope that anybody who has ladders under the shed and especially Holty, read the thread before it was binned.
As I type in the library at 11.15am Archer Formation our local two Jet provosts have rotated from R 26 and are doing a Tower Flyby.
Two T2 Hawks ZK 28 & ZK 31 are going out on a sortie as Fighter and Target not sure which is which, also on north apron
Typhoon 11 SQ DZ and an U/I Typhoon 2 seater which looks like its come straight out of the paint shop.
A message for all the Golden Oldies at 11.30am Today Friday a new Paul Temple Crime mystery starts on Radio 4 at 11.30am.

Re: Operational Log for June, 2010.
Continuation of Fridays log.
After the Jet Provosts rotated from R 26 they went to Waddington RTB to Warton to refuel later
in the afternoon.
11.17am We had a rare visitor a Tornado F3 ZE 163 HY this info from one of our new correspondents
from Blackburn.
THe two T2 ZK 028 & ZK 031 went out on a mission and later landed back at Warton.
another T2 ZK 025 went away but did not return.
Tarnish 17 went up in the 11 SQ Typhoon coded DZ he did a nice rotation climbed into the circuit
and dived back into the circuit and climbed steeply away. On DZ RTB T17 did us proud ducking and
diving, who needs to go to an Airshow when Tarnish 17 is flying. he is definately in the same mould as a crtain Mr K Hartley.
Later in the afternoon Tarnish 5 & Tarnish 17 climbed into a Typhoon each but there was an RT problem and the mission was scrubbed.
