Operational Log for June/July 2015.
Operational Log for June/July 2015.
My first visit to Warton in June still a cold wind but steadily getting warmer.
I arrived just as two Royal Saudi Air force Typhoons were taxi-ing along runway 25 both did a 180 and lined as a pair almost opposite to Granvilles Gate one of the
photographers exclaimed that this could be a pairs reheat rotation unfortunately it wasn't but both went up as singletons each engaging their EJ 200s in reheat both with near vertical climbs into the overhead climb out. This was a shake down flight for an imminent delivery flight. Pilots were Tarnish 5 & Tarnish 69.
When Tarnish 69 returned to the Warton overhead, he dived into the circuit from the northwest descending over the Fylde, once into the circuit we were treated to a number of low approach go rounds with steep climb outs, ending almost inverted on the top of each climb out.
Whilst Tarnish 69 was in the circuit Tarnish 5 returned and flew a long down wind leg over the Preston Area before picking up the Warton ILS. Tarnish 5 decided to Emulate 69 and the entertainment continued.
Earlier Tarnish 9 had been aloft in another Typhoon. In between the Typhoons performance an unidentified Bi-plane landed.Edit G.SBOL.http://www.intotheblue.co.uk/flying-exp ... flights/If anybody fancies a flight in a bi-plane.Click on high flyers.
All the images have been captured by our ace band of photographers Mickey & Gary and can be seen in Current Military Photography.

they were also up last thurs & fri also on ferry shakedown flights (CS32 last Thurs/CS31 last Fri, with CS32 appearing to have comms problems, so I guess that is why they were up again yesterday).

The inhabitants of Freckleton and Warton had a rude awakening this morning. As the two R.S.A.F Typhoons Left Warton on Delivery to Saudi Arabia stopping off at Tours for the Airshow. Take off time 8am landed approx. 9.45am. (Faster than Easy Jet)
Re: Operational Log for June, 2015.
the first leg to Tours (Val de Loire/St. Symphorien) took 1hr 15 mins so even faster than sleazyjet or ryannair but a tad more costly in fuel I would imaginejohnhowe wrote:The inhabitants of Freckleton and Warton had a rude awakening this morning. Op log for Tuesday the 9th, June, 2015.
Tarnish 5 rotated from 07 in Typhoon ZK 368 with the EJ 200s in afterburner mode as he pulled a few Gs in the left hand turn, on RTB he had the company of three hang gliders who were also in the Warton circuit. Tarnish 5 flew a couple of spectacular low approaches with steep almost vertical climbouts before landing on R 25.
15.55pm R.S.A.Force C 130 Hercules 1622 landed on 25 and taxied to cargo on southside.

Re: Operational Log for June, 2015.
At 15.30pm today Thursday the 18th, June, The Royal Saudi Air force Tornado coded 703 was towed out of 358 hangar I lost track of where it went, but I did hear
that an aircraft was on tow from south to north.
A few minutes later Tornado ZG 773 called for engine start, earlier an U/I Tornado made an approach to 25 so I was informed by the guys on the mound.

Re: Operational Log for June/July 2015.
ZK603/8004 on another 'ferry shakedown' flight and ZK604 (CS35) believed to be on its 3rd production airtest (they sometimes need a radar target so ZK603 may have been this for CS035)johnhowe wrote:My afternoon log for Monday the 29th, June,2015

Re: Operational Log for June/July 2015.
As reported in other posts, an RAF C-17 arrived yesterday afternoon, but was gone by 8:20 this morning (Thurs 9th)
Also present this morning was RAF BAe146CC3 ZE707, parked up northside where the company 146 usually parks.

Re: Operational Log for June/July 2015.
Interesting to note that the C 17 Globemaster ZZ 173 that landed at Warton yesterday was the same C 17 that landed at Warton on the 18th, May, 2013. What is truly amazing that Mickeys photographs of yesterday landing are a mirror image of his images in 2013.
