As i arrived at Warton today for the T2 Hawk demo, One of the Warton locals informed me that the Demo had been cancelled and might take place on Friday.

The weather at Warton at the moment 10.45am is low cloud in drizzle.

Edit; Diesel at Townsend Garage in Warton is 2p cheaper than Petrol at 113.9p. long may it continue in its downward spiral.

No Hawk T2 Demo today. Test Flying was great IPA 1 ZJ 699 & IPA 6 ZJ 938 were up twice once in the morning and late afternoon.

Mid afternoon Tarnish 69 taxied along runway 25 very slowly must have been aware of the huge number of spectators and photographers lined up all along
the fence he was in Typhoon ZK 370 it was a dry rotation with steep climb out to the west. However on his return Tarnish 69 flew a fast approach on 07 pulling steeply into the Warton overhead to enter the circuit for diving attacks on the Warton target flying out to the west before turning east in his dives, after a number of attacks he flew into the circuit for a touch and go streaming his parachute on landing.

B-17 Sally B over the Fylde mon 10/8

Post by TombsRIP » Tue Aug 11, 2015 3:47 pm

Seen fairly low over lytham rooftops heading towards blackpool for airshow, at around 1533L.
Then visible doing wide bomber turns just east of blakpool.
Seen again low over lytham at 1602L heading sth
ATC at blackpool requested a pass over the airfield and also warton, even saying B-17s had been based at warton during the war (for maint. with BAD2 he meant presumably).
Im not sure they obliged - perhaps it would have been posted already if they had.

I presume this was a first flt for BS131..they generally do attacks on the airfield target and stream the drag chute on first flt (landing) unless there is an incident etc
I have no record of it previously flying.
I missed this one as i was over at Valley watching swiss PC-21s which dep early that day.
