Flying @ Linton

Post by ozzieparky » Mon Jun 29, 2020 4:16 pm

Been a few Hawks doing touch and go's at Linton over the last week - usually one at a time but today there's two in the pattern! Can't get any details on them from ADSB sadly...

Anybody know where they're from and what they are doing?

A post appeared on some of the local forums/Facebook pages which states ;

"This email is to inform you that the airfield will
recommence flying operations from the 22 June
2020 , initially with our Tutor aircraft and also
from 3rd July 2020 with up to six Hawk jet
aircraft operating from RAF Linton-on-Ouse
until 20th July 2020 . Planned flying hours will
be 08:30-18:00 hrs Monday to Friday . Once the
Hawk aircraft have departed after 20th July it is
expected that RAF Linton-on-Ouse will return to
routine Tutor flying until their final departure
in December 2020 ."

Apparently a new air conditioning system is being fitted in the Leeming control tower and hence the temporary move .

Thanks David - nice to see something about again - shame it's not on a more permanent basis!
