Hi,
if your Chinook was landing then it was almost certainly ZK559 which was noted over Wigan at 19:00 heading NE, having departed from Valley. When it got near Leeming it joined in some exercise with Apaches and then landed.

Hopefully someone is able to tell me what the 2 Apache and 3 Chinooks were at 08:00 this morning

From a later visit in the day yesterday the three Chinooks were ZK553 ,554 which remained all day with engine covers on and the previously mentioned ZK559
The Apaches remained unidentified.

Hi eagle driver, are you sure about the Chinooks ?
ZK554 returned to Odiham on Friday and has been reportedly replaced at Leeming by another that is so far unidentified

As you stated, ZK559 was up yesterday as Lifter 1.

Today Lifter 1 heard departing AM, not pinging - Lifter 2 ZK553 airfield opps in the afternoon

Ident of 3rd Chinook still not confirmed

Any eyeball on Lifter 1 today would be appreciated

Hi all

I've just had a very brief glimpse at Leeming (well I did before driving home). I was unable to read anything off. On the ground circa 14:30 was 3x HH-60s, 3x Chinooks, 2 x C-130s, 1x A400/Atlas and 1x Apache.

If anyone is able to provide confirmed identities for the British military, I would be very grateful. I would really appreciate the serial of the A400, as I'm hoping it's ZM418 - which would be my last one.

Many thanks, C

According to FR24, the Atlas was ZM411 (just departed as Griffin 0) and one of the Hercs was ZH865.

A stop off here 070922 had the following exercise participants, all on the ground:-

ZM418/418 Atlas C.1
3x Chinook (presumed to be ZK553, 554 & 559)
2x Apache
ZZ175/175 Globemaster C.1
ZH865/865 Hercules C.4
ZH877/877 Hercules C.4

Arriving back at about 1300 were:-

26205 HH-60G
26471 HH-60G

ZA720 Chinook HC6A
ZD983 Chinook HC6A

The HH-60s & Chinooks all parked up on the main ramp, so presumed separate to the exercise.

ZJ782 Dauphin of 658 Sqn, departed at 1150 having taxied out from the exercise area.

ZK554 departed the previous Friday and it's replacement has since been confirmed as ZK550 with a duff hexcode.
