Heard some rumours that Leuchars is going to be the main base for the exercise this time and not Leeming like the last exercise.

Sorry, Leeming was not the last exercise HQ.
There are other posts saying that only C-130s used Leuchars last time. They are also incorrect.

Sorry I should have worded that better. What I am meaning is that everything could be based at Leuchars this time like 2019 exercises unlike 2020 where it was just the C-130s at Leuchars and everything else at Leeming.

Yes they where at Leuchars but never stayed over night. Looking at the Exercise Chamelon 2020 thread in the leachers section confirms this. The mostly operated from out of Leeming and traveled up to the area of operations for that day.

As per previous Chameleon the Apaches etc were operating from Leeming as per Blackmike post and were transitting to Leuchars which going by posts on the Leuchars page was used as a FOB,but Leeming was as far as i`m aware their base of operations for the Ex

I think the tier system was in place at the time but it might have been slightly relaxed at the time.

Going up there for the 9th but I see on another thread that they left before the weekend, will be nice if there is action up there
